What the Finance area shows you

The Finance area brings all of your church’s giving into one place: online gifts, Sunday cash and cheques, standing orders, Gift Aid and deposits. Its summary tab shows four cards, and each one opens a part of the picture. Here’s what they do and where to go next.

The four summary cards

  1. Finance Summary totals the income recorded on your site, split into shop, donation and registration transactions, with a task to open the advanced financial reports. There’s also a task here to add a new payment group or page.
  2. Payment Imports summarises the giving you’ve entered by hand or imported, with a ‘+’ for a quick new import; see keying in cash and cheque giving and importing giving from your bank statement.
  3. Gift Aid Claims summarises your claims to HMRC, with quick access to start a new claim and a task to find donations with missing information; see how to make a Gift Aid claim.
  4. Bank Deposits shows your online income from Hubb Processing and the offline deposits you’re using to reconcile your statement, with a ‘+’ for a new offline deposit; see how to record bank deposits.

Good to know

  • With everything recorded here, your members see their full giving history when they log in and can download annual giving statements for their tax return.
  • The money itself is collected through payment groups; our payment groups guides cover setting those up, from donations to event tickets.
