What’s the best church management system for an Elim church?

We know Elim well. Elim’s national website runs on Hubb, we exhibit at the Elim Leaders Summit in Harrogate, and Elim churches get Hubb at half price for two years. So we aren’t a neutral judge. What we can offer is an honest look at what an Elim church tends to need from a church management system, a checklist you can hold any provider to, and a clear account of where Hubb fits.

What Elim churches tend to need

The Elim churches we work with vary enormously, from a plant meeting in a school hall to a large multi-site church with staff. A few things come up again and again.

Sermons and media matter. Sunday’s message needs to be online by Monday, as audio or video, in a series with its own artwork, and findable months later. In Hubb the media library sits behind the website and the app, so one upload appears in both, with the speaker, passage and series attached.

The app is where the church lives through the week. Elim churches tend to be quick to adopt an app, and quick to notice if it looks like someone else’s. The Hubb app is your church’s app, with your name, logo and colours throughout. It installs straight from your website on iPhone, Android and desktop, with nothing to submit to an app store. Members see news, sermons, events and their own serving dates. Broadcasts let you send a push notification to everyone, or to one group.

Growth should not be punished. A growing church adds people every month. Hubb’s plans grow a few pence per extra person rather than forcing a jump to the next plan, and multi-site churches can give each site its own controlled area inside one system. Planting a church? Churches in their first two years, counted from when you first started meeting, get 50% off the main monthly fee for two years in their own right.

Children and youth work needs care. Sunday Child Check-in, permissions that limit who sees what, and Safe Messaging, built into the app, which lets a leader message a young person only after a parent has approved it, with every message logged and the safeguarding lead able to see everything. As far as we know it’s the first of its kind for churches, and we have written about why we built it.

Events fill the calendar. Conferences, holiday clubs, the coach to LIMITLESS, Alpha, men’s breakfasts. Free and paid bookings, custom questions on the form, capacity limits and attendance reports, on the website and in the app from one event.

Giving is part of worship. One-off and regular giving online, Apple Pay and Google Pay, gifts assigned to tithes and offerings, missions or the building fund, offline giving recorded alongside, Gift Aid declarations on each person’s record, and Gift Aid claimed through Hubb’s HMRC integration whenever you like.

Why Elim churches choose Hubb

We build for Elim already. The Elim national website, with its events, shop and resources, runs on Hubb. That means the platform is already carrying Elim’s own conferences, ministries and communications, and we understand how the movement is organised.

We turn up. We have been exhibiting at the Elim Leaders Summit in Harrogate, and it’s where a lot of our Elim conversations start. If you were there this May, you may already have met us.

The saving is real. Through our partnership with Elim, Elim affiliated churches get 50% off for the first 24 months on every plan, as new customers. Our church management plans, which include the website and app, run from £35 a month including VAT, so that’s £17.50 for the first two years on Starter, £22.50 on Plan 1, £32.50 on Plan 2 and £42.50 on Plan 3. Website only (£19) becomes £9.50 and website and app (£29) becomes £14.50. There’s nothing to pay up front, the contract is rolling monthly, every template is free and we style it to match your branding at no extra cost. If you take online giving or event payments, a Hubb.Processing account is £3 a month on top, with 2.2% plus 20p per transaction. Full details are at hubb.church/elim.

One system instead of five. A national ministry we met at an Elim conference was running four or five separate systems at £300 to £400 a month. Bringing them into Hubb will save around £300 a month, on one Christian-run system built for churches.

A Pentecostal church on Hubb. Sandra Mathers at Kingdom Faith South West has been with Hubb for years and says what stands out is that smaller churches ‘don’t lose out on what they can access’, and that Hubb tends to provide the solution before she realises she has hit the problem.

We share your values. Hubb is Christian-run and has been building church websites since 2002. We’re a Fairtrade-registered organisation and an accredited Living Wage Employer. We support Christian charities and community projects, sponsor children in poverty, and plant trees for every new customer. Choosing Hubb supports wider Kingdom work as well as your own.

What to ask any provider

  • Does it include the website and the app, or will we still need separate suppliers for those?
  • Is it built for UK churches, with Gift Aid, sterling billing and UK data hosting?
  • Can our volunteers use it without training every time someone new joins the team?
  • What happens to the price when we grow?
  • What does the app actually look like with our branding? Ask to see one.
  • Can we try the whole thing without giving card details?

Our plain guide to church management systems goes into more depth, and this post explains why having the website, app and admin in one place matters so much.

If you need something for your leadership team, our Why Us page and our brochure cover it, and our Trustee Pack answers the governance questions trustees ask.

Frequently asked questions

Which Elim churches qualify for the discount?

Elim affiliated churches, as new customers. The full terms are at hubb.church/elim, and if you aren’t sure whether your church qualifies, ask us and we’ll tell you straight away.

Does the app go in the App Store?

No. It installs directly from your website with one tap, on iPhone, iPad, Android and desktop. No submission, no approval delays, and updates appear automatically.

Can a multi-site church use one Hubb system?

Yes. Each site can have its own controlled area, and if you want each site to have its own web address and design, sub-sites are £10 a month each. There’s one app for the whole church.
