How to change the address your site’s emails come from

Your site sends automatic emails on your behalf: welcome emails, password resets, rota reminders and more. They all come from your site email address, and this guide shows you how to change it, and how to override it for an individual email if you need to.

Changing your site email address

  1. In the web office, open Site Settings.
  2. Choose Site Profile from the navigation on the left; it’s the first option under General.
  3. Under Primary Domain/Email, change the Site Email Address to the address you want.
  4. Click ‘Save’.

Good to know

  • You can override the address for a single email: go to the System Emails section (just below Site Profile), open the email you want to change, and put the alternative address in the ‘From’ field.
  • The site email address is also used as the ‘From’ address when an administrator without their own domain address sends a mailing, so it’s worth choosing one that makes sense to your members.
  • If you set this to your church’s own domain address, make sure your SPF record is in place first; our guide on sending from your own domain address covers it.
