The quiet payoff of check-in is what happens in the web office without anyone lifting a pen: every tap at a kiosk fills in the register and updates your attendance records, exactly as if an administrator had ticked each name by hand.
How the two connect
-
When someone is checked in at a kiosk, or ticked on a leader’s phone from the register, the attendance record for that event is written automatically. There’s no separate step, no Monday-morning data entry.
-
Attendance is tracked per group, and any event can be added to any group’s attendance, which matters when the event doesn’t live in the group: your crèche group can track attendance against the main Sunday service events, and check-in fills those registers automatically.
-
When a check-in closes, group members who never registered are marked Absent, so the record is complete both ways: who came, and who didn’t.
-
From then on it’s ordinary attendance data: open the group and run a register or an attendance chart to see the pattern over weeks and months. Recording attendance and seeing attendance over time cover the reporting side.
Good to know
-
This works with zero hardware: a small group leader logging in on their phone and ticking the register is using exactly the same machinery as a four-kiosk Sunday operation, and the attendance records come out identical.
-
Complete records are also the safeguarding backbone: the audit trail of who was checked in, out, and by whom is kept alongside the attendance itself.
-
The setup guide covers linking groups to events via the event’s Check-in Groups tab, which is what tells check-in which registers to fill.
