How to add a module to an article

Modules are ready-made building blocks you drop into a page: a calendar of upcoming events, a gallery of photos, a map to your building. They pull live content from your site, so the page keeps itself up to date.

Adding a module

  1. Open the article in the editor (select its group, open the Documents tab and click the title).
  2. Click in the contents where you want the module to sit.
  3. Select the ‘Module’ icon from the toolbar.
  4. Choose the module you want from the list.
  5. Fill in its settings. Most modules ask where to draw their content from, such as the current group, a specific group or a tag.
  6. Click ‘OK’, then ‘Save’, and use ‘Preview’ to see the module doing its job.

Good to know

  • Because modules pull live content, a calendar module updates itself as you add events. No editing the page every week.
  • You can usually get back to a module’s settings by right-clicking it in the editor.
  • For a rundown of what each module does, see our companion guide on the modules you can add to an article.
