Video sitting inside a page, playing right where the reader is, beats sending people off to another site. The Media Player module handles it, whether the video is uploaded to Hubb or hosted on YouTube or Vimeo.
Embedding a video
-
Log in to your web office and open the page in the editor.
-
Click where the video should sit, select the ‘Module’ icon on the toolbar and choose the Media Player module. Our module guide covers adding modules generally.
-
In the module’s settings, choose the source: a video uploaded to your site, or the YouTube/Vimeo option with the video’s URL pasted in.
-
Leave the responsive box ticked (it is by default) so the video sizes itself to the page and to phones.
-
Save and preview the page, then check it plays on the live site.
Good to know
-
Hosting big videos on YouTube or Vimeo and embedding them is a sensible way to keep your Hubb media storage for the things that need it.
-
An embedded video fills the width of the area it’s placed in, so a full-width spot gives the biggest player.
-
For sermon videos, consider adding them to the sermon’s recording instead, so they appear in your sermon library too.
