If your events already live in Outlook, Google Calendar or another system, Hubb can import them through a wizard in the web office. The wizard reads CSV files only, so you’ll need to export your source calendar to CSV first. Before you start, though, read the warning below: for most churches, recreating regular events as proper recurring series in Hubb is the better long-term move.
Importing events
Read this before you import
Imported events arrive as single, unconnected entries, never as recurring series. That means a change to your weekly service’s time has to be made on every imported event individually, deleting a ‘series’ means deleting each event one by one, and rotas and room bookings can’t be applied across them in one go. An import can land hundreds of events in minutes that take hours to unpick, so import one-off events by all means, but build your regular pattern as recurring series in Hubb instead.
One more quirk: the import can’t bring across event contacts, so every imported event gets the importer’s email address as its contact. If you don’t want the enquiries personally, run the import while logged in as a generic church office account.

Tidy your source calendar first and export it as a CSV file: remove anything out of date, since there’s no bulk undo on the other side.

Log in to your web office, select the group the events belong in and open the calendar, then click the task link ‘Import calendar information from a file’. The Import events page opens.

Upload your CSV. You can set the field delimiter (comma, semicolon or tab), the text qualifier, and tell the wizard to ignore the first few rows if your file has headers.

Map your columns to Hubb’s fields: Title, Start Date, Start Time, End Date, End Time, All Day?, Location, Postcode and Details. Title, details, start date and location are required.

Check the rows the wizard shows you and select the ones to import.

Set visibility: ‘Inherit group visibility setting’ keeps things simple, or pick exactly who can see the events from the dropdown.

Finish, then spot-check a handful of imported events on the front of your site: times, locations and who can see them.
