How to edit an event or a whole series

Times change, venues move, speakers swap. Editing an event is straightforward, and Hubb gives you real control over whether a change applies to one event or a whole recurring series.

Editing an event

Read this before you update a whole series

Applying an edit to a date range or the whole series updates the fields you changed across those events; anything you didn’t touch is left alone, so one-off differences on individual events survive. Two things to know: the group and calendar always carry across, whether or not you changed them, and dates are safe. A time change applies the new time of day and duration to each event, but every event keeps its own date.

  1. Log in to your web office, select the group that holds the event and open the Events tab.
  2. Click the event’s title. Events in your current group show bold and underlined; clicking one from another group takes you to that group first.
  3. Make your changes: title, dates and times, location, contact, link, details or image.
  4. Save. If the event is part of a recurring series, Hubb asks how far the changes should reach.
  5. Choose one of the three options: this event only; events within a date range (handy for a school-holiday pattern); or every event in the series.
  6. Confirm, then check the calendar on the front of your site.

Good to know

  • The Series tab on the event lists every event in the series and lets you open any of them, which makes checking after a series-wide change quick.
  • Editing one event on its own never touches the rest of the series, so one-off changes are always safe.
  • Changes show on your live calendar as soon as they’re saved.
