How to set a group homepage article

Every group on your site has a homepage: the page visitors land on when they choose that area from your menu. The homepage article is the article you pick to fill that page, and this guide shows you how to set or change it.

Setting a group homepage article

Read this before you switch

Choosing a new homepage article unpublishes the current one straight away, and the change shows on your live website immediately. If you still want the old article on your site, republish it from its quick options menu once you’ve made the switch.

  1. Log in to your web office.
  2. In the group structure on the left, select the group whose homepage you want to set.
  3. Open the Documents tab to see the articles in that group.
  4. On the quick options menu (the three dots to the far right of the article you want), choose ‘Select as Homepage Article’.
  5. Check the front of your site: opening the group from the menu should now show your chosen article in full.

Good to know

  • The homepage article shows a small house icon in the Documents list, so you can always see which one it is.
  • A group generally needs a published homepage article before it appears in your site’s menu. If a new group seems to be missing from the menu, this is the first thing to check.
  • If a page only shows a title and summary, and visitors have to click through to read it, setting that article as the group homepage is usually the fix.
