The Resources area is where you manage your rooms, equipment and anything else people book for church activities. It has its own small set of permissions, separate from the rest of the site, so you can hand the bookings diary to someone without giving them anything else. This guide covers granting them.
Granting Resources permissions
-
Log in to your web office and click the resources icon on the far left of the screen.
-
Select the top group in the Resources tree.
-
Click the settings cog at the top right of the page, then open the Permissions tab.
-
Click the blue ‘+’ icon at the bottom right (or choose ‘Add a person to this list’ from the blue ‘Tasks’ button at the top right).
-
Find the person, click their name, then click ‘Select Records’.
-
When their name appears in the list, tick the permissions to give them: ‘Booking Manager’ to approve, reject and manage bookings, ‘Edit Resources’ to keep the details of existing resources up to date, and ‘Create Folder and Resources’ to add new resources and organise the whole booking area.
-
Click ‘Save’.
Good to know
-
A typical bookings volunteer gets all three permissions, so they can run the diary and keep the resource list current without asking you to add each new room or projector.
-
This is different from the ‘Resource Booking’ permission in the Site Manager area, which lets someone make bookings on behalf of a group. The permissions here are for the people who manage the bookings side itself.
