How to update the CROSS multi church template
The CROSS template has a folder of images in the root group for the hero slideshow, plus a section that shows your different churches. You’ll find the images under the Media tab.
Use the right image sizes
Upload your images at the sizes given below. If they’re the wrong size, the homepage won’t display correctly for your visitors.
Slideshow images
The slideshow images live in the ‘Hero Slideshow’ folder, and you can add whatever images you need, at 2000 pixels wide by 750 tall. There’s a guide to uploading an image if you need it.

The caption on each image sets its text and its button. The parts are separated by asterisks: the first is the title, the second the strapline, and the third the button text. The button only shows if the image has a link, and there’s a guide to adding links if you need it.
For parishes with more than one church
The churches shown on the homepage come from a group in the site tree called ‘Our Churches’, with a sub-group for each church. Each has an article, and the text shown on the homepage is set under the Properties tab of that article, so change the title and summary there to update it.

Each church’s image sits under its own Media tab, at 800 pixels wide by 400 tall so it can be used full size on content pages. They’re JPGs, and you can swap one by selecting it and using the ‘Replace this image with a new one’ task. If you upload a new image instead of replacing the existing one, you’ll also need to update it in the article’s properties. Keep any new image the right size and format before uploading.

The list that shows these images under ‘Our Churches’ picks up any article tagged with ‘church description’, a setting under the Advanced section of the article properties. Tag any new church sub-groups the same way and they’ll appear on the front of the site.
