Consistent image sizes are what make a site look designed rather than assembled. These are the standard sizes Hubb uses, based on the Aspire template that trial sites come with. The image editor has a preset for each, so you rarely need to remember the numbers.
The standard sizes
-
Main slideshow and the ‘What’s on’ slideshow: 2,000 pixels wide by 750 pixels high. These are the big banners, so start with the highest-quality photo you have.
-
Feature images: 800 by 400 pixels. This is the workhorse size, used for content pages, event images and sermon recording images, and it’s what the app feed picks up.
-
Block images (the gallery of three under the welcome section): 665 by 592 pixels.
-
Welcome section image: a 262 by 262 pixel square.
Good to know
-
These sizes come from the Aspire template. Other templates can differ, so if your site was designed for you and an image looks off at these sizes, raise a ticket and we’ll confirm the right dimensions for your template.
-
When in doubt, 800x400 is the safe answer for almost any image inside a page.
-
Bigger originals crop down well; small images scaled up go blurry. Always start from the largest version of a photo you have.
