Setting up the Churches Together template

Here’s how the different parts of the Churches Together template are put together, and where to edit each one.

  1. The slideshow images are in the ‘Hero Slideshow’ media folder below the top-level group. Set each caption in its image page in the web office, in the format Main Title*Sub-text*Button text (separated by asterisks). The button only shows if the image has a link. You can swap the images for your own, ideally all the same size, and at least 1100 pixels wide so they look sharp on larger screens.
  2. Edit the homepage welcome message in the ‘HomePage Design: Welcome’ article in the top-level group.
  3. The ‘HomePage Design: Submit a Story’ article holds the text below the slideshow.
  4. The ‘News and Features’ section shows the nine most recent articles from your ‘What’s On’ area.
  5. The ‘HomePage Design: Read More News’ article holds the text below ‘News and Features’, currently a button linking to an archive.
  6. The ‘Supporter Logos’ media folder in the top-level group holds the supporter logos, which you can replace with your own.
  7. The ‘HomePage Design: Side Menu’ article holds the text at the top of the sidebar, currently a set of quick links.
  8. The ‘Upcoming Events’ area shows the next five events from the calendar. If there are none, only the link to the full calendar shows.
  9. A live Twitter feed can sit next in the sidebar. If you don’t have an account, let us know and we’ll remove it.
  10. A button can go below the feed, currently a ‘Find out more about Christianity’ one.
  11. Let us know your other social media accounts and we’ll add links to them in the footer.
  12. On content pages, the main article content shows alongside the sidebar, with an extra navigation area at the top of the sidebar.
